Untitled Chess Game
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
What's this about?
This is a game I'm working on where you move chess pieces using cards! Currently this is only a small proof of concept/demo that will evolve and get better as I work on it.
That being said everything you see in game is subject to extreme change and is a Work In Progress (WIP).
The name of the project is open for suggestions, as "Untitled Chess Game" is just for fun until I can think of something better.
How to Play
Currently there is no tutorial, and not many instructions in game on how to play so I'm documenting it here for now.
The objective of the game is to take the opponent's king, just like normal chess! All of the same rules apply (minus the missing features, see below) except that you don't have to move the king if you're in check.
You will be given a random color (White or Black) and a deck of 52 cards.
Hovering cards will bring them into focus, and with highlight possible selections in green. If you click on a card this will select the card and will keep it focused. You can follow this process for then the chess piece, and also the position you wish to move the piece. Once you have all of the needed selections the submit turn button will activate, and upon clicking it you will submit your turn and discard your card.
If you cannot move anything, or do not wish to move you can click on one or more cards and then click the "Discard" button. This will put these cards in your discard pile and end your turn.
